A Girl's Pledge
I found this passage from Iyanla Vanzant/s book entitled Don't Give It Away. I just had to share because this is what we should be teaching our girls:
A GIRL’S PLEDGE
I am a girl. I’m an expression of beauty, joy and love.
I have the right, the power and the ability, To create a beautiful, joyful
and peaceful world for myself and others.
I have a body, but I am not my body.
I have a face, but I am not my face. I am the most important thing
in the world to me. I am love in motion.
I am the light of the world! I can create!
I can make a mistake! I can create something beautiful
in all that I do. I deserve the best. I give my best.
I do my best to always take care of me!
I am a girl! I am growing into a woman.
I AM IT!
I am the joy the world is waiting for!
I have the right, the power and the ability, To create a beautiful, joyful
and peaceful world for myself and others.
I have a body, but I am not my body.
I have a face, but I am not my face. I am the most important thing

"Why JESUS is Better Than Santa Claus!"
Santa lives at the North Pole... JESUS is everywhere.
Santa rides in a sleigh... JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.
Santa comes but once a year... JESUS is an ever-present help.
Santa fills your stockings with goodies... JESUS supplies all your needs.
Santa comes down your chimney uninvited... JESUS stands at your door and knocks, and then enters your heart.
You have to wait in line to see Santa... JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.
Santa lets you sit on his lap... JESUS lets you rest in His arms.
Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, what's your name?"... JESUS knew our name before we did. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.
Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly... JESUS has a heart full of love.
All Santa can offer is HO HO HO... JESUS offers health, help and hope.
While Santa says "You better not cry"... JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you."
Santa's little helpers make toys... JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.
Santa may make you chuckle but...JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.
While Santa puts gifts under your tree... JESUS became our gift and died on the tree.
Its obvious there is really no comparison. We need to remember WHO Christmas is all about. We need to put Christ back in Christmas, Jesus is still the reason for the season. Yes, Jesus is better, he is even better than Santa Claus!

Ten Commandments to follow in Life!
1] Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a "steering wheel" that directs the right path throughout.
2] A Car's WINDSHIELD is so large & the Rear view Mirror is so small because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, Look Ahead and Move on.
3] Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.
4] All things in life are temporary. If going well, enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong, don't worry, they can't last long either.
5] Old Friends are Gold! New Friends are Diamond! If you get a Diamond, don't forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a Base of Gold!
6] Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, G-D smiles from above and says, "Relax, it's just a bend, not the end!
7] . Do for others; it will make what you do for yourself worthwhile.
8] "Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?" "Yes, losing your vision!"
9] Be cheerful. You will be welcome everywhere.
10] WORRYING does not take away tomorrow's TROUBLES, it takes away today's PEACE.
